Orienteering Level 2 Course

During this course we will expand on the concepts and skills taught in level 1 including mapping techniques, compass use, and map alignment. We will establish pace counting, bearings, reverse azimuth, and more in the classroom before proceeding to the practical field course to test it out!
 
The course (classroom portion) will be held at the Longmont PD Firing Range at 10916 County Rd 5, Longmont, CO 80504 on May 25th starting at 9:00am. 
 
Printed maps and map tools will be provided. The map is available for download ahead of time!
 
Required gear for the course:
- Writing utensils
- Fine-tipped sharpie x2
- Backpack
- Water
- Compass (preferably with adjustable declination)
- Weather-appropriate clothing
 
Feel free to increase the weight of your pack by adding around 20-30# to make the practical portion of the class more realistic!
